If you are out with an English friend and you want to offer to pay, there are some great phrases that you can use to sound like a native English speaker. Watch the video or read on for some great English pub language!
Offering to pay
When it’s time to pay, you can choose one of these natural English expressions to say to your friend:
“I’ll get these.”
“These are on me.”
“It’s my treat.”
Nice and easy, hey! But they will make your English sound so natural!
Making sure your friend doesn’t pay
If you friend then tries to get out their wallet. You say:
“No really, I insist!”
By the way, you can also use all of this English vocabulary to buy somebody a coffee/cake in a cafΓ©!
If you want to buy drinks for everyone in your group
