Today’s phrasal verbs with pop are a great example of the type of vocabulary you’re not taught at school which is soooo useful for everyday conversations!
All of the pop phrases in today’s lesson are things that I (and my family and friends) use on a daily basis so I can’t wait to share them with you.

So, as you saw in the video, there are 3 common patterns that might make it easier for you to remember these pop phrases.
pop + to + place
I’m gonna pop to the supermarket after work. Do we need bread?
Can you pop to the post office and post this parcel for me?
I popped to the bank earlier but it was closed.
I’m just popping to the loo!
pop + adverb of place
Can you pop downstairs and grab my phone?
I’m just popping next door. I won’t be long.
I want to visit my Mum. Let’s pop there on our way home.
pop + noun + on
Can you pop the light on? I’m squinting to see my book!
Let’s pop the kettle on and have a nice cuppa.
Just pop those bags on the table. I’ll unpack them later.
Pop your jacket on darling. It’s nippy outside!
Of course I could give you lots more examples but the ones we’ve learnt today are very common and easy for you to use in daily conversation.
Now you know how common ‘pop’ is in English, listen carefully to conversations. You’re going to hear lots of other phrases with different prepositions (pop round, pop over, pop into). I promise, it’s such a useful word!
